Strategy activation, transformation and change management
We maximise the likelihood of successful implementation of the strategy. To do this, we create the key prerequisites for the workforce: understanding, identification, clarity of their own contribution and structures for sustainable implementation.
In the spotlight:
Strategy development and communication
Project:
Challenge
IT department of a high-tech industrial company
approx. 9,000 employees
Positioning of an IT lighthouse project in front of the Executive Board, which was to automate around 10% of manual work processes.
Project requirements:
- Significant one-off investments
- Shift to end-to-end based processes
- Revision of the ERP system
Problem: After three months of preparation, IT management was unable to present the project convincingly and gain the support of the Management Board.
Goal
- Approval of the project: The aim was to have the IT lighthouse project approved by the Executive Board in order to tap into automation potential.
- Best possible preparation: Sharpening the argumentation and ensuring a convincing presentation as well as targeted preparation for critical follow-up questions.
- Structured decision-making: Moderation of a workshop to weigh up the pros and cons and define a final roadmap.
Measures
- Intensive sparring with the IT managers:
- Analysing the planned initiative and identifying strengths and weaknesses
- Development of answers to potential counter-arguments and clarification of critical aspects
- Development of a coherent presentation:
- Creating a clearly structured and visually appealing presentation of the project
- Integration of the line of argumentation that clearly communicates the benefits, risks and necessary steps
- Moderation of the decision meeting:
- Steering the discussion between the Management Board and IT managers
- Ensuring that the arguments are weighed up objectively and developing a joint decision
- Definition of the final roadmap:
- Determining the next steps, responsibilities, budget and other criteria for the successful implementation of the project
Results
Professional decision-making: The Management Board rated the entire process as structured and goal-oriented
The Executive Board is convinced: The IT lighthouse project was approved in a slightly adapted version
